On Sunday, we saw something that we usually see on Saturdays. It was definitely something I'm sure a lot of fans weren't expecting to see in the Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday Night Football.
In football, often times players fake injuries. It happens. Why, well it gives the other team a time advantage. The clock then has to stop, and you know how the rest goes.
I'm not going to say that's exactly what happened on Sunday with the Green bay Packers, but it was definitely implied by the media and Eagles' fans.
"No comment," Sirianni said with a grin as he was asked if he 'feels bad for all those guys on the defense getting hurt when you were running offensive plays.'
I mean, that's a great question, to be honest.
We see this in college all the time. Way more than we should. In my opinion, we don't see it in professional football all that often. Most of the time it's because the players act professionally.
"Yeah. When you are going fast and things like that, guys are going to – it was hotter out there too, it was way hotter (forecast says it was 58 degrees), so cramps are going to happen. Injuries are going to happen. I get it."
And, I hope that Sirianni was being completely sarcastic or playful when he gave that answer because no, it doesn't make any sense for a guy to walk back to the play, randomly fall, grab one body part, then grab a different one after.
Sure it happens, but it seems a bit fishy to me.
I'm not going to say anyone was faking anything, but there was skepticism. I just think Sirianni answered the question about it as well as he could.
