The Philadelphia Eagles lost a special part of their defense last night after Brandon Graham suffered a torn left tricep in the team's 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams and announced he was done for the season.

Eagles head coach Nick Siranni appeared emotional in his post-game presser and refused to answer any questions on Graham.

"Love him. One of my favorite guys I've ever been able to coach," Sirianni said. "…I’m not ready to talk about it yet. Holding out hope, and we’ll see.”

While Sirianni couldn't come up with quite the right words at the moment, quarterback Jalen Hurts could.

Hurts was spotted on the sideline with his arm around Graham. The message he sent to him was a simple one.

“That I was there for him," Hurts said. "I’m very unfortunate for the man first, and the teammate second, you know, a guy that has endeared himself to this franchise. As always, try to uplift those. And really just teach the young guys that are coming in. You know, you got to think of the guy as deep as he is in his team. It’s bigger than the game, and why he’s still playing."

In addition to Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley had some kind words for the 36-year-old veteran that he has known for less than a year.

"I've only been able to be his teammate for a short period of time but I feel like I've known him for my whole life," Barkley said "He is the reason why this transition for me has been so easy — him along with a lot of other guys.

"The energy and the passion that he brings not only to this team but this city, he epitomizes what it is to be a Philadelphia Eagle. And all of us have to get in line and try to follow and try to accomplish the things that he accomplished."

Graham had previously told the media that this season was his final one, but it's possible that this injury cutting things short could mean he returns for a 13th year.

Until that decision comes, however, Graham vows to continue being a great leader for his teammates on the sidelines as they look toward another playoff run.
