Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni may not be going anywhere after all, despite leading his team to a historic late-season collapse.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Sirianni appears to be safe, though changes are still coming to the Eagles' staff.
"The signs continue to point to Nick Sirianni returning," Schefter said during Saturday's broadcast of the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans playoff game. "Nothing official. Conversations ongoing, There are expected to be changes on the defensive side of the football. But right now, Nick Sirianni still has a job, and it's trending to staying that way."
This update comes as no surprise following the multiple reports that said Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman were tasked with reaching out to available coordinators across the league and presenting a list and plan for 2024 to owner Jeffrey Lurie.
Sirianni was scheduled to meet with Lurie on Friday and it's been very quiet on the Eagles' front, indicating no changes are being made at head coach.
Additionally, several key players stood up for Sirianni this week including Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, Jordan Mailata and Jalen Hurts, which may or may not have played a part in Lurie's final decision.
It also helps that Sirianni is a winning coach and has led the Birds to an overall 34-17 record, three straight postseasons and a Super Bowl appearance in just three years.
Giving him another chance while upgrading his coordinators makes sense, especially if his best players still believe in him.
