The fact that the Philadelphia Eagles couldn't close the deal on Saturday, means there could be extra repercussions in Week 17.
When I say close the deal, I mean win a very winnable game against the Dallas Cowboys that would have closed the deal, or locked up the division title for the Eagles.
Believe it or not, the repercussions of that outcome are bigger than you may think, and some of the latest news surrounding the Eagles only makes that more noticeable.
On Monday we got word that the Philadelphia Eagles would be without their star right tackle Lane Johnson for the remainder of the regular season, as he has what has been reported as a torn tendon in the abdominal area.
Now, there are reports from Adam Schefter of ESPN that Johnson could still play in the playoffs, but will likely need surgery in the offseason.
Now that they didn't take care of business in a game that was more than winnable, as the Eagles had a 10-point lead a few different times, they are putting more players at risk to have injuries next week.
Had they won, the Eagles would have clinched and been able to sit out some key players for next week against the New Orleans Saints.
Now what happened to Johnson could happen to some other players, but even worse. This is something that could come back to bite the Eagles, for sure.
