The Philadelphia Eagles moved on from offensive coordinator Brian Johnson this week, but it looks like he might not be out of a job for long.
According to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot, Johnson is scheduled to interview with the Cleveland Browns for their vacant offensive coordinator job on Thursday.
Following two seasons as the Eagles' quarterbacks coach, Johnson was promoted to offensive coordinator this past year.
But after the Eagles' tragic late-season collapse that saw them go from a 10-1 start to losing their final six of seven contests, head coach Nick Sirianni chose to fire Johnson.
Under Johnson in 2023, the Eagles' offense finished ranked seventh in points scored and eighth in total yards. They also made the post-season for a third straight year but lost 32-9 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the playoffs.
Johnson has been credited with the successful development of Eagles' quarterback Jalen Hurts, leading him to an MVP-caliber season in 2022, and could benefit a team in need of coaching a young quarterback.
However, if Johnson ended up in Cleveland, he would be tasked with shaping Deshaun Watson into the quarterback he once that which landed him a $230 million megadeal.
