Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson has found a new home that's not too far away from Philly.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Brian Johnson is expected to join the Washington Commanders offensive staff.

It's unclear at the time what his title will be, though Fowler adds that his role is "prominent."

The Commanders did interview Johnson for their vacant offensive coordinator position last week, however, the team chose to go with Kliff Kingsbury instead.

The Eagles parted ways with Johnson in January following a late-season collapse. Despite a devastating end to their 10-1 start to the 2023 season, Johnson's offensive unit finished ranked seventh in points scored and eighth in total yards and managed a third straight playoff berth.

Johnson initially joined the Eagles as their quarterbacks coach in 2021 and with his help, Jalen Hurts led the Birds to a 14-3 record and a 2022 Super Bowl run.

Johnson will now offer the Commanders some guidance as they spend the offseason searching for their next franchise QB.

Meanwhile, the Eagles will look forward to seeing him on the opposing sidelines at least twice in 2024.
