Five Philadelphia Eagles players receive early Christmas presents that create new reason to finish season strong
No coal for these Eagles stars.
The Philadelphia Eagles roster and coaching staff got a bit of an early Christmas experience on Tuesday. Instead of presents wrapped in gift boxes, some of the best Eagles players received a different sort of gift. They were selected to the league’s Pro Bowl Games, the annual all-star experience for the NFL.
Five Eagles named to this year’s Pro Bowl Games
Five Eagles made the initial Pro Bowl roster. All of them have played a key role in Philly’s success this season.
- CB Cooper DeJean
- CB Quinyon Mitchell
- LB Zack Baun
- DT Jalen Carter
- IOL Cam Jurgens
Mitchell and Baun will have a strong case for All-Pro selections by season’s end, too. Both have been playing amongst the elite at their position in the NFC. Carter was well on his way to that sort of achievement for this campaign, too, but he’s recently missed time due to injury.
The Eagles also have a handful of alternates for the Pro Bowl Games as well.
- EDGE Jaelan Phillips
- RB Saquon Barkley
- TE Dallas Goedert
- CB Kelee Ringo (Special teams)
- QB Jalen Hurts
With these Pro Bowl selections, you can imagine that these players will only be more motivated to reach All-Pro status this season. They already have one achievement, crowning them for being some of the best at their position, so plenty of eyeballs are on them to reach the next level.
For Philadelphia, they are certainly focused on finishing the regular season strong, but they also need to stay healthy. Jalen Carter returned to practice on Tuesday as he tries to end his recent absence from the field due to injuries to his shoulders.
Star offensive tackle Lane Johnson should also return to the field soon. It was a surprise he was snubbed from being a Pro Bowler.
