The Philadelphia Eagles have finally received the news they have been waiting for at the start of their potential Super Bowl run.

Starting quarterback Jalen Hurts has officially cleared concussion protocol and will play against the Green Bay Packers in the NFL wild card round.

"Yeah, he's made it through the protocol," Sirianni told reporters before the team's final walkthrough on Friday.

The Eagles have played it very safe with Hurts, who has missed the last two weeks of games and practices for a concussion he suffered on Dec. 22.

"We're always careful with him," Sirianni said. "He's our quarterback, so we always want to be careful with him. We always think about his health first and foremost because you never want him not to be on the field. You always want Jalen Hurts on the field. You always feel better when Jalen Hurts is on the field. It's always part of our process and our plan to make sure that when he does carry the football on planned runs that we try to protect him."

But now the narrative all week has been that Hurts could look rusty and out of rhythm with his top receivers, though Sirianni is convinced otherwise.

"They've got a lot of reps together prior to the last couple of weeks," Sirianni said. "A lot, a lot of reps together. So that's not a concern of mine. I just feel like we're in a good spot going into this game."

Philly will host the Green Bay Packers at home on Sunday afternoon with the winner advancing to the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

The Birds are currently favored to win by 4.5 points, but the odds could shift even more in their favor with Hurts officially ready to go.
