The Philadelphia Eagles could finish the season undefeated. honestly. When you glance at their schedule, you think, wow, this isn't so bad. That's because it isn't.
The Eagles are off to their best start since 2004, and it could be even better, honestly, as I haven't checked yet when the last time the Eagles started 6-0. I do know, though, that the last time they started 4-0 was in 2004, just 18 years ago.
Their schedule has them set up for so much success, as they are doing things the 2017 Super Bowl team never did. They have the fourth easiest schedule compared to the rest of the league, according to Pro Football Focus.
The Eagles have the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and the New York Giants again on the road all left on their schedule. The Giants, Packers, Titans, and Cowboys are the only teams left on the schedule that currently has a winning record, which would explain why they have the fourth easiest.
The Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dallas Cowboys all have easier opponents, as they rank first, second, and third in terms of the easiest strength of schedule. It's great that they have an easy schedule, but there is one thing wrong with this list.
The third spot is the Dallas Cowboys, and the seventh is the New York Giants. Those are both NFC East rivals, both are also having very good seasons. Now, why does it matter? Well, that means they could potentially surpass the Eagles barring anything happening.
The Eagles are 6-0, the Giants are 5-1, and the Cowboys are 4-2, which means there is really no room for error if you are the Eagles. If you lose a game, boom, you are potentially tied for first and no longer have a home-field advantage or a bye week.
