The Philadelphia Eagles just got even better. Just when you thought they couldn't, they go and trade for one of the best available defensive ends in the game in Robert Quinn.
The Eagles' defense is stacked. I mean, it already was, but now the depth is even crazier, especially when it comes to the pass rush. They are one of the most complete teams, if not the most complete, but they were that before the Quinn trade.
However, there was doubt he may not play on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, as he didn't get to Philadelphia until Thursday. Coach Sirianni said they would try to get Quinn up to speed to play.
Quinn was asked in his first press conference with the Eagles if there were any challenges when getting traded to a new team in the middle of the season, and this is what he had to say.
"I don't know if there are necessarily challenges, but I mean, learn the playbook, first of all," Quinn said. "You have to know the people who are in the building, from coaches to the fellas in the locker room, you know because that is who you deal with every day.
"Really get to know their names, and how they are. To be honest, I'm terrible with names so I guess that is a big challenge for me because I take that personally, I just want to know people for who they are not by a number, so."
I think it is safe to say we will never have to worry about any mid-season challenges from Quinn now that he is on another team. No challenges in learning the playbook, just learning everyone's name. That is literally the only thing he claims he will struggle with.
Quinn seems like he will be a great fit with this team. Not only on the field but with the culture that Sirianni has put in place and that the locker room carries out.
I think Quinn will be great for the Eagles this year. All he has to do is learn everyone's name.
