The Philadelphia Eagles ran their way past the San Francisco 49ers, earning their second trip to the Super Bowl in five seasons.

The running game has been the Eagles’ calling card all season long and that would continue in Sunday’s 31-7 NFC Championship Game beatdown.

The Birds accumulated 149 rushing yards, setting a franchise record with four touchdowns on the ground. Philadelphia broke an NFL record set by the Frankford Yellow Jackets in 1924 with 39 rushing touchdowns on the year.

Keep in mind that the Eagles were able to accomplish this feat against the NFL's second-ranked run defense in 2022. Sunday marked the first time all season that a team had rushed for four touchdowns against San Francisco.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts also raced past an NFL record previously held by Cam Newton, who totaled 14 rushing touchdowns including the postseason during his 2011 Super Bowl run with the Panthers.

Hurts’ lone rushing touchdown moved him into first place for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season (15), including the playoffs.
