Early on in their Week 17 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, the Eagles encountered a scary situation as Josh Sweat, one of their key pass rushers, went down with a major injury.

It was bad enough to the point where a stretcher was needed in order to get Sweat off the field.

Per NBCS Philly's John Clark, Sweat was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Sweat has 11 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, both are career highs. Behind him the Eagles have veteran Brandon Graham and Janarius Robinson. The Eagles are currently holding onto first place in the NFC, and will need Graham and Robinson to step up if they are to maintain first place.

Later on, the Eagles' Twitter account provided an update describing Sweat's injury as a neck injury and that he had movement in all of his extremities.
