The Philadelphia Eagles should take advantage of the latest Denver Broncos roster move.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Broncos are set to release All-Pro safety Justin Simmons, saving them $18.25 million against the cap.

Simmons was initially a third-round pick by Denver in the 2016 NFL Draft and has been with the team ever since.

The Broncos' decision to release Simmons comes as a bit of a surprise considering he was Denver's top safety who finished last season with 70 tackles, three interceptions, eight passes defensed and two forced fumbles.

His outstanding efforts in 2023 earned him a second Pro Bowl nod and a fourth All-Pro honor.

He will now enter NFL free agency on March 11 and although he is 30 years old, he is expected to be highly sought after.

Given the fact that the Eagles need a safety, they should make a move for Simmons.

That's if they can get a good value for him on a short-term deal, which his older age should factor into.

It also helps that Simmons' former Broncos coaches, Vic Fangio and Christian Parker, work under Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni as the team's new defensive coordinator and passing game coordinator/DB coach.
