Well, that, and they can clinch the first seed if they win. But, as Jason Kelce said, they don't care about that. They have other things they need to fix, and this next game won't be an easy one to use as a game to fix things.
Last week was a loss, but it was still fine. It was a backup quarterback and they still scored more than 30 points. However, they did give up 40. But this week against the Saints was by far the worst game they have played this season.
I know Hurts wasn't playing again, but this game was just beyond bad. The offense was terrible. There are Saints players after the game saying they ran hey same offensive play four times in a row and the Eagles' defense never noticed it.
It's bad. These are the things that they need to get fixed, and just because they beat the Giants badly last time, doesn't mean they will this time. They are a divisional opponent, and these games don't usually come easy.
"We lost to (Washington) the 2nd time," star defensive end Haason Reddick said. "We played the Cowboys and lost to them the 2nd time. …It’s hard to beat the same team twice, which is why I said we’re going to need laser focus and guys to lay it on the line. …This is the biggest game of the year.”
The Giants are a playoff team. In fact, they have already clinched their spot, so they could rest some players, but it's a division game so there is a chance everyone plays, but maybe limited minutes.
This game is so important. Let's see how the Eagles respond.
