Milton Williams won Super Bowl LIX as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. That made it a bit surprising when he exited during free agency last offseason.

Now, as a member of the New England Patriots, he’s back to prepping for the Super Bowl. This time, he will be up against the Seattle Seahawks, and his media availability this week has uncovered some intriguing topics and viewpoints.

Former player believes Eagles fans have a certain reputation

When asked about the Philadelphia fan base vs. the New England fan base, Milton Williams, was brutally honest on both sides. He feels like both are even in terms of support, but the two groups of fandom are starkly different overall.

“It’s even but like I feel like Patriots fans, they don’t want to get in trouble. Philly fans, they don’t care about nothing. They don’t care if they go to jail.” — Milton Williams

While even many Eagles fans would probably tell you that they hold an incredibly strong passion for their team and city, it was still comical to hear this opinion from Williams.

The former Eagles defensive lineman also discussed his free agency process last offseason. He was entering free agency and was open to a return to Philly, but according to Williams, the Eagles did not show much interest in bringing him back.

Williams revealed that he did not receive an offer from the Eagles and didn’t really hear from them ahead of signing with the Patriots.

The Eagles may have felt comfortable with their interior DL presence, but it is still a bit surprising to hear this sentiment. Williams was a highly sought after defender once free agency opened, so it makes you think how the Eagles may have misvalued his potential.

New England is certainly glad that the Eagles weren’t blowing up Williams’ phone to get him back in the building, though. He’s been a key cog in their defense so far this season on the way to the Super Bowl.
