The offseason arrived weeks earlier than Philadelphia Eagles fans had hoped for ahead of this postseason. The Eagles won the NFC East handily, but now they have to look towards the future after a disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round.

Accordingly, who can we expect to don the green next season? That is a pretty cloudy situation right now, and the front office has plenty of tough decisions to make in the coming months.

Eagles have a lot of notable expected free agents for this offseason

The Eagles have questions to consider with the list of unrestricted free agents on both sides of the ball. Reed Blankenship, Nakobe Dean, Jaelan Phillips, and Dallas Goedert headline the list of players that Philly will need to re-sign if they do not get franchise tagged.

  • S Reed Blankenship
  • LB Nakobe Dean
  • DE Jaelan Phillips
  • DE Azeez Ojulari
  • DE Brandon Graham
  • DE Joshua Uche
  • DE Ogbo Okoronkwo
  • TE Dallas Goedert
  • TE Grant Calcaterra
  • TE Kylen Granson
  • WR Jahan Dotson
  • RB AJ Dillon
  • OT Fred Johnson
  • OG Brett Toth
  • OG Matt Pryor
  • QB Sam Howell
  • P Braden Mann

Tight end is a huge area of concern, given this free agency situation. Goedert emerged as one of the most productive pass-catching TEs in the NFC this season and was a consistent target for quarterback Jalen Hurts. With him and multiple depth options possibly exiting, the Eagles have to have a plan in place to replace them.

On defense, trade acquisition pass rusher Jaelan Phillips looms as a massive piece to try to keep in the fold for Vic Fangio’s unit. Phillips was a solid contributor once joining Philadelphia and loved playing in front of the fan base.

He will, no doubt, have interest in a return, but the Eagles must carve out a salary cap plan to make that happen in a smart fashion.

All in all, a lot of questions remain, and general manager Howie Roseman may have to navigate another offseason with some roster turnover, as well as some coaching staff changes.
