It’s Week 6 and the Eagles still don’t have an established CB2.

The Philadelphia Eagles are six weeks into the 2025 NFL season, and they still have not established a starting cornerback opposite Quinyon Mitchell.

Due to injuries, the Eagles have recently been forced to turn to Kelee Ringo since Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In that win, Ringo gave up just one catch for eight yards. He also logged four tackles, one pass defended, and recovered a fumble. However, he wasn’t as consistent as Philly would have liked and missed several tackles.

Ringo’s inconsistency rolled into last week’s loss to the Denver Broncos, where he allowed four catches on seven targets for 56 yards. He also gave up a two-point conversion attempt late in the team’s 21-17 loss.

Now, as the Eagles prepare to face the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football, many are wondering if Ringo will get the start for the third week straight, especially since Adoree’ Jackson is trending toward full health.

While Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio wouldn’t go into details, he told reporters on Tuesday it’s possible.

“Possibly,” Fangio said. “We gotta make a decision between those two. I think Kelee has done well. At the minimum, they could both play.”

Kelee Ringo Getting Another Chance to Prove Himself

After former Eagles starting cornerback Darius Slay left the Eagles during NFL free agency, the starting No. 2 cornerback job opposite Quinyon Mitchell was Kelee Ringo’s to lose. He ended up losing the starting job to Adoree’ Jackson and also fell behind Jakorian Bennett on the depth chart. He did, however, carve out an important role on special teams.

Ringo has now had two more chances to prove himself since camp, and it sounds like he might be on tap for a third one on Thursday.

If he perfects his mistakes from his first two chances and shows up in Week 6, then it’s definitely not out of the question of him keeping the starting job moving forward.
