Eagles set to visit with all-Conference offensive lineman
The Eagles are looking in the right place with an important prospect.
Great teams find ways to address problems before they ever rise up in the first place. Given the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles have proven themselves to be a great team, it looks like addressing the offensive trenches could be on the table.
While this may seem like overkill based on the fact that the Eagles had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, Philly would be wise to learn from the mistakes of the Buccaneers in 2022.
A few key departures and injuries was all it took to take the Bucs from being a team that was in contention for a Super Bowl to a team that barely made it into the playoffs.
The good news for the Eagles is that they at least appear to be preparing for this contingency with the news that the team has a Top 30 visit scheduled with Ohio State's Dawand Jones.
Jones has every bit of the physical tools and the college tape to have a very long NFL career. While he may not be the top tackle in his class, two second-team All-Big Ten selections and a first-team All-American selection in 2022 should be enough to show anyone that the upside is there.
The Eagles wouldn't have to give up any crazy capital to make this happen, and the opportunity to pair such a high-upside player with a veteran offensive line that has few needs seems like a prudent match made in Heaven.
Even if the selection isn't made, the Eagles are wise to at least consider their options with the future in mind.
