The Philadelphia Eagles hit the road to face the Los Angeles Rams following a 34-31 win at home over the Washington Commanders in Week 4.
LA is also fresh off a 29-23 overtime win against the Indianapolis Colts.
The undefeated Birds are 5.5-point favorites over the 2-2 Rams this week.
Up until Week 4, the Eagles had not looked their best under this new offensive system, but now it seems they're starting to get into a good rhythm.
Jalen Hurts played his best game of the season so far on Sunday, completing 25-of-37 pass for 319 yards and two touchdowns to top wideout A.J. Brown.
To go with their passing game, the Eagles are stacked at running back with Kenny Gainwell, D'Andre Swift and Rashaad Penny. Swift had back-to-back 100-yard rushing games in Week 2 and Week 3 and still led the ground game in Week 4 with 14 carries for 56 yards and a touchdown.
Philly's young defense has also done its job well and is coming off of five sacks against Washington.
As for the Rams, they had lost two straight outings before beating the Colts. Their losses came against the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals.
How they even beat the Colts on Sunday after they blew a 23-0 lead in the second half is beyond me, but this team fights hard.
Matthew Stafford, who played through a hip injury, went 27-of-40 for 319 yards, one touchdown and an interception. However, he didn't throw a touchdown pass until overtime when he found rookie Puka Nacua for a 22-yard completion.
Nacua, the Rams' 2023 fifth-round pick, has been a surprising bright spot on offense and currently leads all wide receivers in targets (52), receptions (39) and ranks second in the league in receiving yards (501).
The Rams could be getting star receiver Cooper Kupp back from injured reserve this week, which would give them a boost, but as Stafford continues to play with an injury, then they may be stuck with relying on their subpar run game.
On defense, the Rams still have All-Pro Aaron Donald leading the pack, however, Eagles' rookie Jalen Carter is right up there with him leading all defensive tackles in pressures.
The Eagles may not have it all figured out just yet, but they certainly don't have as many weak spots as this Rams team, so there's no reason that they shouldn't leave LA 5-0.
