Philadelphia Eagles fans can relax because Jalen Hurts' No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Brown is not going anywhere.

On Monday, ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter completely shut down the nonsense rumors that the Eagles were looking to trade Brown

“Contrary to internet speculation, the Eagles are not trading A.J. Brown," Schefter said. "The star wide receiver signed a three-year extension a year ago this week.”

This time last year, the Eagles signed Brown to a three-year, $96 million contract extension, ensuring his presence with the team through the 2029 season. Brown also received $84 million in guaranteed money, the highest ever for an NFL wide receiver at the time, and an average annual salary of $32 million, another league record for the position.

Given that kind of commitment, both financially and strategically, the Eagles would be crazy to trade Brown. He has been a constant in their offensive success, leading the team in targets (97) and receiving yards (1,079) during their recent Super Bowl-winning season. Aside from losing a weapon, the Eagles would also lose Brown's veteran locker room leadership and take a massive hit to their team chemistry that they worked so hard to build.

And then they would deal with significant salary cap implications, including $16.4 million in dead cap if they traded him after June 1.

In case it isn't clear enough, Brown is a key part of the Eagles' offense, and that contract extension only proves they’re all in on him for the long haul. Trading him now wouldn’t make much sense, and most likely was never even on the table.
