Philadelphia Eagles' Fletcher Cox is officially done playing football after 12 incredible years of wearing midnight green.

The six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle gave a short but sweet retirement speech on Tuesday and addressed Philly media one last time.

When asked about potentially getting enshrined into Canton one day, Cox perked up a bit and sounded hopeful.

"Me and Howie [Roseman] just talked about that," Cox said. "I gotta get in the Eagles Hall of Fame first, so that might help me [laughs]. But yeah, obviously, that's something I think about. Apparently, it's all in everybody else's hands right now, but hopefully I'm, one day, a few years from now, putting on a gold jacket and I'll be looking forward to it."

There are currently only 38 defensive line players who have been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

With his six-straight Pro Bowls, four All-Pro honors, 70 sacks, and a Super Bowl win, Cox has proven that he's worth a gold bust.

The only thing that may be in the way is Aaron Donald, who played the majority of his career at the same time as Cox and is one of the greatest defenders in league history.

Donald hangs up his career with 10 straight Pro Bowls, 8 first-team All-Pro nods, 111 sacks, and a Super Bowl champion.

But maybe the Hall of Fame committee will come to the conclusion that there's room for both of them in Canton.
