Philadelphia Eagles' punt returner Britain Covey is proving exactly why undrafted free agents deserve love too.

The former 2022 UDFA out of Utah has been the best in the league at his job since Week 13 of last season, still leading the NFL at 14.6 yards per punt return, but he's just now getting the spotlight he deserves.

"We know we have maybe a hidden gem that not everybody always fully appreciates. We sure do," Eagles' head coach Nick Sirianni said this week. "He is a locker room favorite here. These guys love Britain Covey because he’s tough, he works his butt off, great personality."

Covey continued his groove in Monday night's 25-11 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he returned three punts for 81 yards, including a career-long 52-yard punt, which was the longest by an Eagle since 2020

However, regardless of how well he performs on gameday, Covery refuses to get comfortable.

"Never get too comfortable in your role because if you get too comfortable somebody else will not," Covey said, via the team's official site. "There is always someone behind you pushing harder. That is the motto I live by and how it has been since I got into the league."

In three games, Covey has posted six punt returns for 113 yards.

"I’m so glad he’s our punt returner," Sirianni said. "Man, he is a great, great punt returner. You saw that in college. And he’s a great teammate. Man, I can’t say enough good things about the player and about the person."
