‘We can’t be afraid to fail’ – Howie Roseman reacts to Eagles’ trade rumors surrounding Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett
Howie Roseman knows what it takes to build a Super Bowl roster.
The Philadelphia Eagles were rumored over the last few months to have had interest in making trades for star defenders like Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett.
Instead, Philly reportedly swung and missed on both players. Instead, Garrett signed a massive new deal with the Cleveland Browns while Parsons was traded to the Green Bay Packers.
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was asked about those bold trades, and while he didn’t go into details, he was honest with what he had to say.
“I feel like when there are opportunities to be aggressive for the right players, we’re not going to sit on our hands,” Roseman said. “You know, I don’t think that you have great success without taking great risks at times. They have to make sense in terms of the risks you’re taking. And so, you know, we can’t be afraid to fail.”

It’s no secret that Roseman is known to be one of the most aggressive general managers when it comes to making trades. Since February of 2021, Roseman has made 85 trades.
To Roseman, making trades is the only way a team can truly be successful, and the Eagles’ three Super Bowl runs only further prove that.
“I think for you to get to the top that you’ve got to be willing to take chances that,” Roseman said. “May look controversial at times. And so if there was an opportunity to do that with that, we thought it gave us also an opportunity to be the last team standing, put confetti on our heads, and we’re going to go aggressive in that direction. I just feel like that’s the right way to operate our team. And that doesn’t come without mistakes. I understand that. But I won’t live with regret. I won’t live with regret in the way that we operate around here. And so if we feel passionate about something, if we think the value is right, we’re not gonna be afraid to pull the trigger.”
