The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0 after beating the Los Angeles Rams in the final seconds of their Week 3 matchup, 33-26.

It was another week of “it wasn’t ugly,” but “it wasn’t pretty” either. Yet, all that mattered was that the Eagles walked away with a victory.

Philly posted just seven points in the first half before scoring 26 unanswered points in the second half, and defensive tackle Jordan Davis capped the game by blocking a field goal and returning it for a touchdown as time expired.

Hurts completed 21 of 32 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. However, he was sacked three times after Lane Johnson exited the game with a neck injury in the first quarter.

A Win is A Win

After the game, Hurts made it clear that while he wasn’t necessarily proud of the flow of the game, he was proud of his teammates for coming together and never giving up.

“The beautiful part about it is we’ve been able to play and win in multiple ways,” Hurts said. “We’ve been able to play defensive games, play well on defense, and protect the ball and win games. We’ve been able to be very efficient and potent and have a lot of fireworks on offense over time and find ways to win games. We’ve been able to come back from very, very ugly situations and it’s a dangerous thing. And [Head] Coach [Nick] Sirianni, he talks about it’s a dangerous thing when the group never gives up, and this group never gave up.

“That’s what I’m very proud of. I think a win like this is encouraging, but it also lights a fire under everybody to strive for the level of execution that we want. We talk about playing for a standard. The standard isn’t to produce or to have these numbers or certain statistics, it is to execute whatever we’re asked to do. I don’t think we did that in the first half. I think we kind of changed our approach in the second half and that definitely helped us weather throughout the game and make plays the way we did. But it’s about execution in this game and the way I learned football from [Former Alabama Head] Coach [Nick] Saban, it’s about playing to a standard. We play to win. We also play to a standard and so we can’t lose sight of what that is given all the things that we’ve been able to do over time.”

The Eages are back on the road next week, where they’ll face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) on Sunday afternoon.
