Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter owes a lot of money to the league after spitting on Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott last week.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Carter must pay a massive fine of $57,222 to the NFL. However, the upside is that he won’t have to serve another game suspension since he was ejected six seconds into Week 1’s 24-20 win over Dallas.

Here is the official report from Schefter via X/Twitter:

“NFL is fining Eagles DT Jalen Carter $57,222 for spitting on Dak Prescott. The league also says the game he was ejected for will serve as a one-game suspension. “After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game,” said Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus.”

Jalen Carter Makes Vow to Teammates and Fans

It wasn’t even one snap into Thursday Night Football game between the Eagles and the Cowboys, and Carter had already been tossed.

After the Eagles won 24-20, head coach Nick Sirianni remained calm about the situation.

“We want to have great energy, great tenacity, but we’ve got to do it within the rules of the game. We’ll address that,” Sirianni told reporters. “We’ll go through that, and we’ve got to get better in that scenario because we need that guy on the field because he’s a really good player.”

Sirianni has since refused to reveal what his in-house punishment looks like. As for Carter, he vows never to let it happen again.

“It was a mistake that happened on my side. It won’t happen again,” Carter said. “I feel bad for just my teammates and fans out there. I’m doing it for them. I’m doing it for my family, also. But the fans, they showed the most love.”

The Eagles face the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in a Super Bowl LIX rematch, and they can breathe knowing Carter will be available.
