With the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 18 win over the New York Giants, the Birds clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC. While securing a bye in the Wild Card Round is certainly a great reward, quarterback Jalen Hurts remains unsatisfied.

Heading into the postseason as the top dog in the NFC is nothing to sneeze at, but, for Hurts and the Eagles, this is hopefully just the beginning.

Following the win, Hurts acknowledged his team’s outstanding regular season achievement, but was quick to point out that the Eagles still have plenty of work to do.

“We just accomplished a great goal of ours, it’s something that we set out to do this year. My whole thing moving forward is let’s prepare to play our best ball. It’s been a great ride this year, but our job is to finish it, so (we’re) gonna keep on going.”

It’s clear that this team has its focus on Los Angeles for Super Bowl LVII. Locking up the lone bye week on the NFC’s side moves the team one step closer to reaching that point.

That being said, Philadelphia must perform better than what they showed against the Giants. With a handful of key contributors, including Hurts, making their way back from injury, Philadelphia gets a pass this time around.

The Eagles will sit back and watch as they await their Divisional Round opponent. No matter who is on the opposite sideline in two weeks, Philadelphia will need to be firing on all cylinders.
