Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse than losing to the Arizona Cardinals, the Philadelphia Eagles proved us wrong and lost to the New York Giants in Week 18.

With their season finale loss, the Eagles became the first team in NFL history to start the season with 10 victories and fail to finish with at least a 12-win record.

Following Sunday's game, many players remained positive with playoffs approaching, but one player kept his response honest.

"God d*mn. Sh*t. I don't know. At this point, I don't know what to say," Eagles' defensive end Josh Sweat said when asked about his feelings on the loss.

Sweat isn't even sure if one week will be enough time to fix everything that's gone wrong in Philadelphia.

“I don’t know," he said. "The only thing we can do is go back to practice. Try to get on the same page."

This team has been preaching about getting back on the same page since they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13. With the regular season now behind them, it might be way too late for that.

One of the team's biggest concerns is that Sweat has gone eight consecutive contests without recording a single sack. That's out of character for him as the team's No. 2 sack leader.

Sweat couldn't answer whether or not the Eagles' decision to make a defensive coordinator switch back in Week 15 had anything to do with the way things are spiraling.

“I don’t know," he said. "I don’t know. It’s everything."

Since the Eagles switched from Sean Desai to Matt Patricia, they have gone 1-3,  chalking up the worst losses of the season.

Sure, there's more to the Eagles' collapse than what's happening on defense but demoting Desai was never the right move and from what it sounds like, Sweat can agree.

The Eagles will look to make it past the first round of the NFL playoffs when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Monday night.
