The Philadelphia Eagles snagged NFL headlines on Monday afternoon. They made a blockbuster deal to acquire All-Pro safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans.

The deal gets even sweeter than the low cost of compensation that Philly sent to Tennessee, too. The Titans paid Kevin Byard $7 million of his $11 million on his deal for 2023 previously in July.

Byard is also under contract for 2024. There is an 'out' following this season on his deal – if the Eagles chose to do so after this season. Byard is 30 years old.

Byard's cap hit for the Eagles for the remainder of this season is just under $2.5 million, according to Spotrac.

The star safety joins a banged-up, but talented, secondary in Philly. Darius Slay Jr. and James Bradberry are veteran cornerbacks, while Reed Blankenship has come along strong as a young safety.

Byard adds a big-time talent to the group.
