The NFL is an evergreen landscape. Players are thinking of their current situations and futures, both on and off the field.

Things may not be exactly what they seem for the Philadelphia Eagles, and more details continue to flow in regarding Jalen Hurts’ recent time with the team as their starting quarterback.

Potential drama brewing from Jalen Hurts’ frustrating 2025 season

In a recent piece from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Tim McManus, a couple of concerns were raised about Hurts’ recent decision-making and overall makeup as the Eagles QB last season. The story provided insight from anonymous sources inside the Eagles org.

“”Poor body language, not always bought in, not the most coachable and the players notice,” a team source said.” — ESPN

Apparently, there is a belief that Hurts’ body language and coach-ability need to improve as the Birds implement a new offense under Sean Mannion.

Hurts may also need to adjust the people around him, via this report as well.

“A source close to Hurts said the QB needs coaches who will “check him,” opining that Hurts had “too many ‘yes’ people around him” this past season.” — ESPN

Having personal coaches or trainers around the QB that will help him take his own game to the next level and not settle for what has worked in the past could be a huge piece to growth for the Philly passing game in 2026.

Keep in mind that this report has surfaced during the NFL’s league meetings. Additionally, these nuggets are coming from team sources that remained anonymous. The Eagles declined to comment for ESPN’s piece.

The top execs in the industry are all around one another during these meetings, so the timing is extremely intriguing. It is no coincidence that this sort of specific info comes out at this sort of high-intensity time of the offseason, as the 2026 NFL Draft nears.

We will see if anything comes of it regarding Hurts’ future, but the pressure is clearly on in Philly.
