Tight end Dallas Goedert may have seen his last days with the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Goedert is still a name to watch for a potential trade.

"Sources: #Eagles TE Dallas Goedert remains a name to watch on the trade market as the draft approaches," Schultz reports. "Interested teams believe Philadelphia would be open to future picks if they don’t receive 2025 draft capital. Goedert is in the final year of his deal, and he could be looking for a new contract as well."

According to an earlier report from Josina Anderson, the Eagles were hoping to get a 2025 fourth-round pick in exchange for their veteran star tight end, but now, it sounds like they will settle for future picks.

This isn't a move that the Eagles necessarily want to make but it is something they need to do for their cap space situation.

Goedert is set to enter the final year of his four-year, $57 million contract extension this season. He will account for $11.8 million against the Eagles' cap but will carry $23.8 million in dead money in 2026 due to void years.

If Philly trades Goedert before June 1, they'd be hit with $21.39 million in dead money this year. But if they wait until after June 1, that drops to $7.76 million, saving them about $4.05 million this upcoming season, with the rest pushed to next year. That’s definitely a better move for them.

Goedert, 30, finished the 2024 season reeling in 42 passes for 496 yards and two touchdowns through 10 games. While he has been reliable when he is healthy, it's worth noting that he has missed 10 games over the last two seasons due to injuries.

It looks like if the Eagles find the right trade partner, then Goedert will be out of Philly sooner rather than later, but he will be missed.
