A Philadelphia Eagles star player said something this week that should put the rest of the NFC East — specifically defensive backs in the NFC East — on alert.
Wide receiver AJ Brown, a player the Eagles traded for earlier this offseason, told reporters that one of his main objectives this season is picking up extra yards after the catch.
"Whenever I got the ball in myhands, I’m thinking how can I turn this play into 10 extra yards," said Brown on Tuesday. "That’s my first initial thought whenever I get the ball, I got to get 10 every time I touch it. And if I actually get 10, I make it go 30, or however long."

This isn't just lip service from Brown. It's not some random quote from a player during camp that will be forgotten by the time the season starts.
Nope. Brown is a legitimate threat to pick up significant chunks of yardage after every ball he catches. And it doesn't really matter if there's a defender there waiting — Brown has shown he can easily shed tackles in the open field.
Just check out this touchdown from his time with the Tennessee Titans.
I mean, good luck if you're a defensive back going up against Brown. His physicality combined with his mindset makes him a nightmare in the open field.
Plenty of folks have crowned the Dallas Cowboys as the NFC East champions before the season has ever started. I have a feeling Brown and the Eagles are going to have something to say about that this season via their play on the field.
