The Philadelphia Eagles have been quiet on the free agent front since the two day negotiating window started on Monday morning.

Howie Roseman’s team did garner some positive news this afternoon, though. The NFL announced the specific compensatory pick selections from the third through the seventh round for the 2026 draft. The Eagles landed four picks from the comp formula.

Eagles assigned four compensatory picks from NFL

  • 3rd round, No. 98 overall
  • 4th round, No. 137 overall
  • 5th round, No. 178 overall
  • 6th round, No. 215 overall

The Eagles were one of just three teams to receive four compensatory selections in this year’s draft, along with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Eagles’ confusing start to free agency

The Eagles have watched two of their top free agents in linebacker Nakobe Dean and pass rusher Jaelan Phillips exit so far, as they’ve agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers respectively.

Those are both tough blows and leave some intrigue for next season on defense. Even if Phillips was re-signed, EDGE rusher was still a depth need. Now, they need another potential starter at that spot, and they may have to wait until the draft to land that sort of talent.

Meanwhile, they haven’t made any impact moves that fans were hoping for as of this afternoon. That could change in minutes, hours, or days. Regardless, there are some nervy folks in Philly because the Eagles roster needs to improve during this week if they want to find that Super Bowl pedigree once again in 2026.

Deals do not become official until Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 4 p.m. ET. Players/agents can agree to terms with teams prior to that, but no deal can be signed officially. For Philly, they need to get more proven talent in the proverbial boat prior to Wednesday evening.
