The Philadelphia Eagles signed a free agent on Tuesday who is not a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Shortly after the signing of Rashaad Penny was announced, Eagles fans found an old tweet from the running back. The tweet is from 2015, when Penny was a member of the San Diego State Aztecs.

"My kids can't be Cowboys fans," said the old tweet from the then-college star.

The Eagles have one of, if not the most loyal fanbases in the league, so the fans will love this.

Penny's deal will reportedly be for one year, with the terms unknown at this point. Penny is coming off of a broken fibula, so it's not all that surprising that he is signing a one-year prove it deal.

When healthy, Penny has looked like one of the better running backs in the league. However, health has been an issue, as the RB has yet to play a complete season in the NFL.

After being selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, Penny appeared in 14 games as a rookie and ended the season with 419 rushing yards.

Penny's best season, however, came in 2021. In that season, the former Aztec accumulated 749 yards on the ground, with an eye-popping 6.3 yards per attempt.

If the Eagles can get anything close to Penny's peak performance, this deal will pay dividends. This move could also signal that Miles Sanders will be playing elsewhere in 2023.
