Eagles are reuniting with an old friend to bolster strength

I mentioned this in a recent post. The loss of Isaac Seumalo and Andre Dillard could potentially hurt the team more than many expect.
However, the team made a move to help rectify that situation on Wednesday.
Per Tom Pelissero, the Eagles have reached an agreement with veteran tackle Dennis Kelly.
Kelly was originally drafted by the Eagles way back in 2012. The former Purdue Boilermaker spent the first four seasons of his career in Philadelphia before being traded to the Titans for WR Dorial Green-Beckham ahead of the 2016 season.
Kelly went on to spend five seasons with the Titans, playing some of the best ball of his career in the process. Kelly most recently spent one season with the Packers and one with the Colts.
Kelly's homecoming patches a hole on this roster. The massive tackle has spent time at both tackle positions as well as guard. Kelly has 50 NFL starts under his belt, by far the most of any other Eagles' depth lineman. The veteran figures to slot in behind Jordan Mailata, joining Jack Driscoll as the likely backup tackles for 2023.
Fun trivia fact about Kelly- he holds the distinction of being the heaviest player in NFL history to catch a postseason touchdown pass. That touchdown came in the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs and was Kelly's second career touchdown.
Eagles' fans should feel good knowing Kelly is on the roster if anything happens to Mailata or Lane Johnson.
