Yikes — the NFL needs to get its priorities straight.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been fined a ridiculous amount of $5,628 for his choice of cleats in Week 15's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Hurts violated the league's uniform and equipment rules and was fined for "wearing a shoe color that’s not one of the Eagles’ 'Constitutional team colors'."

Instead of worrying about what's on NFL players' feet, the NFL should focus more of its energy on the illegal hip-drop tackle that wasn't called during that same game and injured wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Thankfully, Brown dodged any serious injury on the play, though he is listed on this week's injury report with a knee injury.

The hip-drop tackle, which was banned at the start of the 2024 season, is when a defender wraps up the ball carrier and rotates or swivels his hips which causes him to unweight himself and drop onto the ball carrier's legs during the tackle.

It's clear as day in the highlight video that is the kind of tackle Steelers cornerback James Pierre did to Brown and the officials completely ignored it.

NFL fines don't typically get released until Saturday afternoon so it will be interesting to see if the league decides to punish Pierre for the hit.

If they don't, you can't bet that Eagles fans won't let the NFL live down their mistake.
