The Philadelphia Eagles may end up having to look for a new offensive coordinator this offseason after all.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Eagles' Kellen Moore is the "most likely head coach" candidate for the New Orleans Saints.

This news comes after former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy chose to pull himself out of the running.

Moore, 36, was hired by the Eagles last offseason and it's no surprise why the Saints are interested in hiring him to be their next head coach.

After the Eagles dropped their 2023 season, Moore helped turn things around and is one of the main reasons why the Birds finished with a 14-3 record and NFC East champions. In Moore's first season as the Eagles' OC, the offense finished ranked No. 8 in total yards, No. 7 in points scored, and No. 2 in rushing yards.

If the Eagles were to lose Moore to New Orleans, that would mean they're on the search for their fourth offensive coordinator in four seasons.

While the situation is far from ideal, if there is anyone who can pull off a solid replacement — it's Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman.

Sure, their decision to promote Brian Johnson to offensive coordinator after losing Shane Steichen to the Indianapolis Colts didn't work out, but they made up for it by hiring Moore in 2024.

And with 2023 still lingering in the back of both Roseman and Sirianni's minds, then they understand there is pressure on them to not screw it up again.

Where things get messy is whether or not Moore decides to bring his offensive staff with him to New Orleans. That is unless, of course, the Eagles step in and offer quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier a promotion. Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has had to learn way too many new offensive playbooks since his high school days, would be a fan of that hire considering he has openly admitted his desire to play under the same coaching staff.

There's no reason to hit the panic button right now, but if the Eagles are forced to move on from Moore in the coming weeks, there is no doubt that Sirianni and Roseman are going to hire the right guy to replace him.
