The Philadelphia Eagles had not beaten the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium since 2017. However, that changed for the Birds on Sunday when they took down the Cowboys in Arlington, 34-6.

The game was over once rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson scored his first career touchdown and Jalen Hurts ran another score in to put the Eagles up 28-6 in the third quarter. That giant late lead gave Philly the perfect option to rest their starters in the fourth quarter and they did.

With the victory over another one of their NFC East rivals, the Eagles are now 7-2 and first in the conference. But they have a quick turnaround to get ready for a Thursday night primetime matchup against the Washington Commanders (7-3) in Week 11, which means the ability to give their starters a break is a nice advantage.

"Yeah, that's always big. Anytime we can do that," head coach Nick Sirianni said of resting starters after the game. "That's been three times in the past four weeks. You know, we were able to do that against the Giants. We're able to do that against Cincinnati. That adds up. I mean, that's three quarters now, and we were able to do that tonight. And so that adds up. And you know that's huge going into this game.

"We know we've got a tough game coming up this one. We had fun in there for a little bit, but we know that we play on a short week against a really good opponent, and we got to get our minds right, and we have to get our bodies right."

The same can't be said for the Commanders, who played a much more physical game through all four quarters against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon and ultimately lost 28-27.

Nonetheless, the Commanders are a very solid team and will be a challenge for the Birds even on their home turf, so any other slight advantage is a big one.
