The rumors and reports continue to swirl regarding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. Will he remain in Philly? Is an inevitable trade coming after the 2026 NFL Draft?

Nick Sirianni did not reveal any clues on his future, but his answer to a question regarding Brown and Devonta Smith really stood out during the NFL league meetings.

Nick Sirianni reveals major confidence in both his top wide receivers

During media availability early this week, the Eagles head coach didn’t shy away from proclaiming how much he values both Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown.

He is confident in Smith if Brown gets dealt after the draft, and he thinks both of them are true WR1 options in this league right now.

“Both those players – keep A.J. in it. Both those players are phenomenal players that contributed to a lot of wins over the past four years here, DeVonta, A.J., both…,” Sirianni noted. “It’s not like we have a 1A and a 1B. We got two ones there.”

This is the sort of statement that both supports and Brown in a healthy manner for a possible trade and lets Smith know that he has back, too.

Latest on potential A.J. Brown trade with Patriots

The New England Patriots and Eagles have recently been consistently connected when it comes to a possible post-June 1 trade involving the star wideout. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel did not close that door whatsoever in a bit of an indirect way this week.

“We’ve talked about this since last January. We’re going to try to do everything we can to strengthen our roster through the draft, through free agency, multiple ways of player acquisition,” Vrabel said at the NFL’s annual meeting. — Mike Reiss, ESPN

On the Philly side, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was a completely closed book on Brown during that media availability. He deflected all questions on Brown, simply stating that he is a member of the Eagles.

That’s not shocking, either. Roseman will keep his cards close to the chest as long as he can (as he should).

We will see if a trade goes down between the two potential Super Bowl contenders later in the offseason. No matter what – we know that the Eagles staff has all the confidence in the world in Devonta Smith.
