The Philadelphia Eagles answered a handful of questions in their 29-21 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni sent the loudest message after the team’s comeback victory.
Running back Miles Sanders had a career-day on the ground, racking up career highs in carries (27) and rushing yards (134) all while finding the endzone on two occasions.
Sanders made winning plays in clutch situations for his team all game long. His dominating performance prompted Sirianni to loudly address the media in the postgame press conference.
“Miles Sanders is our number one back! Ain’t no question about it,” Sirianni exclaimed.
The Eagles totaled a whopping 210 rushing yards, which is highly impressive considering the Jags were boasting the NFL’s top-ranked run defense coming into Week 4.
Jalen Hurts, Kenneth Gainwell, and Sanders combined for four rushing touchdowns as the Eagles continue to establish their pulverizing run-first offensive identity.
Credit to Sirianni for sticking to the game plan after trailing 14-0 early on. It would’ve been easy to turn to the passing game after going down two scores, but, if you couldn’t tell from his postgame reaction, Sirianni knows which side on which his bread is buttered.
