The Philadelphia Eagles had a really solid roster this season. That's the biggest reason that they represented the NFC in this year's Super Bowl.
Top to bottom, they had depth and upside.
On defense, their defensive line was among the best in the NFL. Their linebackers made clear improvements. The secondary was one of the most impressive in the NFC.
They had ballhawks and great coverage throughout the season. That being said, there's one position that Philly needs to address early in the draft this spring.
That would be cornerback.
Darius Slay Jr. had an amazing season for the Eagles. James Bradberry was a breakout piece, and Avonte Maddox was good in the slot when healthy.
So, what's the issue?
Well, there isn't one yet, but one could be on the horizon.
Slay isn't getting any younger. His play hasn't dipped quite yet, but we could see it in the next couple of years. Cornerbacks tend to do that sometimes after the age of 30.
Additionally, Bradberry is a free agent. The Eagles will try to keep him, but there's no given that that will occur.
Maddox needs to stay in the slot when on the field. So, there could be a pretty important need for another outside CB. Luckily, the Eagles own two first-round picks.
One of them could certainly be used on a CB in a talent-rich group of top cornerbacks in this year's class.
