For the Philadelphia Eagles (8-0), being the NFL’s lone undefeated team has been a blessing and a curse.
With winning comes attention. For a team with an overload talent, the Eagles have earned all kinds of praise. However, with that attention also comes plenty of nitpicking.
Talking heads and football fans alike have been doing their best to devalue the Eagles’ remarkable run. The most popular narrative has been centered around the idea that Philadelphia has played a weak schedule
One statistic proves that notion to be unequivocally false.
The Eagles have the most wins over teams with a winning percentage of .500 or better this season. The teams that rank below the Eagles in this category aren't getting nearly the scrutiny Philadelphia gets on a weekly basis.
Just like the other 31 teams in the NFL, the Eagles are playing who is on the schedule. Philadelphia has no problem turning into a villain if doubters continue to come out of the woodworks using this lame excuse for the team’s meteoric rise.
The Buffalo Bills (6-2) are coming off of an embarrassing loss to the New York Jets. Soon after Buffalo's defeat, the Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) were bailed out by the officials against a Tennessee Titans team playing without Ryan Tannehill.
Instead of owning up to their mistakes, analysts are doubling down on the idea that Philadelphia isn't the best team in the league. It’s time to face the facts, people.
