A report surfaced on Monday that the Green Bay Packers were the anonymous NFL team that submitted a proposal to the league's front office in an attempt to ban the Philadelphia Eagles' infamous Tush Push play.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst confirmed the report was true on Tuesday morning at the NFL Combine, though he said there have not been many discussions about it just yet.

“I’m aware of it, we really haven’t had many discussions about it," Gutekunst said. "I’m sure we will over the next few weeks heading into the owners’ meetings. I’m aware that we did but we really haven’t had many discussions about it."

Gutekunst also acknowledged that the Packers have not been effective at stopping the Tush Push and how he wanted to dive deeper into injury rates.

“We’re not very successful against it, I know that, but to be honest with you I haven’t put much thought into it,” Gutekunst said. “It’s been around for a while, we’ve used it in different fashions with our tight end, so again, I think there will be a lot of discussions about it. I’ve got to look at some of the information as far as injury rates, things like that, to see. But we’ll see.”

Banning the Tush Push is a popular offseason topic but has yet to be ruled out. The league would need at least 24 teams to vote against the Tush Push for the play to officially be banned.

For now, there are at least two teams against it because Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris made it very clear that he is also on Green Bay's side.

"I’ll definitely be one to vote against it… It should have been illegal three years ago," Morris said.
