The Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles have built one of the very best, and most complete rosters that we have seen in recent years on the NFL level. A huge reason for that is general manager Howie Roseman, who has done a tremendous job utilizing both free agency and the draft to fill out the roster. The latter gave Roseman some issues early in his tenure, but he has done a really nice job allowing talent to fall to them.

In a recent 2026 NFL mock draft from Joe DeLeone and I from A to Z Sports, the Eagles did more of the same. With the No. 32 overall selection in the first round, they selected Utah All-American offensive tackle Spencer Fano. The 6-6, 302-pound right tackle is a player who has been mocked considerably higher by many prominent draft analysts. It would be another value pick for Roseman and C0mpany.

Here is what I had to say about Fano, and his potential fit with the Eagles.

32. Philadelphia Eagles: Spencer Fano, OT, Utah

Believe it or not, Lane Johnson isn’t going to play forever. The Eagles also could be unsettled at right guard with Tyler Steen slotting inside. Fano has the requisite movement skills and run game impact to play either position at a high level. – Roberts

Fano is a very versatile player, who has had experience starting at both left and right tackle during his Utah career. While he did a solid job on the blindside as a freshman in 2023, Fano looked like a completely different player last year at right tackle. His combination of foot quickness, flexibility, and run game impact could allow him to play multiple positions up front. There is a lot of upside for a prospective team to get the best five on the field on the offensive line.

From the Eagles’ perspective, there is a chance that Fano could slot in immediately inside at the right guard position. Tyler Steen is projected to be their starter right now, but you can clearly upgrade that position. There is a legitimate argument that Fano might be an even better fit inside, where his tenacity and flexibility make him an impact player as a run blocker.

If that is the early ideology for offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, Fano could also be the heir apparent for All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson whenever he decides to retire. The Utah star is a tremendous talent, and fits the mold that the Eagles typically clamor for. Let talent fall to you, the Howie Roseman strategy.

The Eagles also selected Northwestern pass rusher Anto Saka in the second round. He is a twitched up defensive end who is still developing technically, but is worth the long-term gamble.
