The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back a familiar face to Howie Roseman's front office.

According to NFL insider Ari Meirov, the Eagles are hiring former general manager Joe Douglas.

"The #Eagles are hiring former #Jets GM Joe Douglas, bringing him back to Philadelphia to rejoin Howie Roseman's front office — where he previously worked from 2016 to 2019, per @Jeff_McLane," Meriov wrote on X/Twitter.

Douglas served as the Eagles' Vice President of Player Personnel from 2016 to 2019. During this period, he played a key role in constructing the roster that led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory in the 2017 season (Super Bowl LII).

After his tenure with the Eagles, Douglas became the General Manager of the New York Jets in June 2019. Under Douglas, the Jets drafted Garrett Wilson, Sauce Gardner, Breece Hall, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and Jermaine Johnson, and traded for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He held the GM position with New York until November 2024, when he was dismissed following back-to-back disappointing seasons.

Douglas is expected to take on a senior scouting role in Philly. His return coincided with several notable departures in the Eagles' front office, and his experience is expected to bolster the team's scouting and personnel evaluation efforts.
