Philadelphia Eagles sign reinforcement at defensive tackle Gabe Hall’s training camp injury
The Philadelphia Eagles announced two roster moves on Tuesday ahead of their second preseason matchup against the Cleveland Browns.
The Philadelphia Eagles announced two roster moves on Tuesday ahead of their second preseason matchup against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday.
The team signed defensive tackle Justin Rogers and released longsnapper Christian Johnstone in a corresponding move.
Rogers was initially drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He’s also spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks. Rogers has yet to make an appearance in a regular-season game, but maybe Vic Fangio can crack the code. He did play in all preseason matchups for Dallas last year, where he logged five tackles.
The addition of Rogers comes after Gabe Hall suffered a shoulder injury during Sunday’s public practice. Like Rogers, Hall has yet to appear in a regular-season game but was making his way up the depth chart.
He did, however, play 49 defensive snaps in the Eagles’ preseason opener against the Bengals, recording three tackles, including one solo tackle.
The Eagles are also dealing with injuries to their offensive line. Starting left guard Landon Dickerson is set to undergo minor surgery on his right knee while backup guard Kenyon Green is nursing a shoulder injury.
We’ll see if they make more roster moves for that reason.
