Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is perhaps the brightest star on a roster that may as well be a galaxy. Philly is down in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX in large part due to his 2,447 yards (and counting) going all the way back to Week 1.

Barkley's one of the best free agent signings in recent memory, and it's all because the New York Giants allowed him to enter free agency 11 months ago.

And the Giants still can't go a day without hearing about it.

Barkley had a jam-packed media session Monday night inside the Caesars Superdome for Super Bowl Opening Night and ended it by taking a question from quarterback Jameis Winston, who's currently a free agent. Winston asked Barkley which team should sign him in free agency, to which Barkley had a quick answer.

"I think New York need a quarterback right now," Barkley responded. When asked to clarify which New York team he was referring to, Barkley left no doubt.

"Giants."

The best part? He's not wrong.

New York allowed Barkley to leave for the best possible situation while they stuck by his former QB, Daniel Jones, only to bench Jones this past season while Barkley was on his way to earning his first All-Pro honor. Now the Giants need a new QB to compete against Barkley's Eagles for years to come. Winston wouldn't even be a bad option after how he looked in limited action for the lowly Cleveland Browns this past year.

It may've been the last question Barkley answered for the night, but it wasn't first time he spoke about his former team. The 27-year old made sure to give love to the fans of his former team.

"My message to Giants fans is nothing but love," Barkley said. "I'd be naive to think that they weren't supportive to me over the last six years. Obviously a couple of them, not probably a couple, of few of them were disappointed with my decision. But the way I look at it, all the things that happen over there, and the love that I have for them is the reason I'm able to have success I'm having now. So just thankful for all those people over there."

Giants fans will surely feel bittersweet about Barkley this Sunday as he competes for a Super Bowl. Maybe they'll get Winston in free agency as a consolation prize.
