The Philadelphia Eagles’ dynamic pass rush paired with an opportunistic secondary is what makes up one of the strongest defenses the NFL has to offer.

Cornerbacks Darius Slay and James Bradberry have been giving opposing quarterbacks fits through the first four games of the season.

This top-tier tandem has combined for four of the Eagles’ five interceptions on the year.

The impact Slay and Bradberry have had on this defense goes well beyond the takeaways. Bradberry has posted a 21.3 passer rating allowed while Slay boasts a 21.8 passer rating when targeted this season.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman broke the bank in order to land this duo. The team inked Slay to a three-year deal worth north of $50 million in the 2021 offseason before signing Bradberry to a one-year contract worth over $7 million in May.

The early returns on each player are proving to be overwhelmingly positive.

In today’s NFL it’s nearly impossible to win a Super Bowl without elite talent in the defensive backfield. Credit Roseman and this Eagles front office for properly allocating the necessary funds in order to piece together what appears to be a championship caliber secondary.
