Both teams will have plenty of motivation when the Vikings meet the Eagles for a Week 2 showdown on Monday Night Football.
Eagles fans will be eager to greet former first-rounder Jalen Reagor in his first game against his former team, one Vikings star just upped the ante with some trash talk of his own.
Vikings WR Justin Jefferson will not let Eagles fans forget about the team’s 2020 draft blunder. Philadelphia selected Reagor at No. 21 overall, allowing Jefferson to fall to Minnesota with the next pick.
Jefferson twisted the knife on Friday when asked about the Eagles’ decision to pass on him two years ago.
“I’m definitely way more happy to be here than there,” said Jefferson.
It’s certainly worked out for Jefferson in his first two seasons with the Vikings. The two-time Pro Bowler has already racked up over 3,000 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns in his career.
However, Jefferson has yet to experience the NFL Playoffs, which is something the Eagles accomplished just last season.
The Vikings are giving a hungry Eagles team plenty of bulletin board material.
This meeting between two of the NFL’s top offenses is already living up to the hype. Can Monday hurry up and get here already?
