A shorthanded Philadelphia Eagles could be fielding a shorthanded roster in Saturday’s Christmas Eve showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts highlighted Tuesday’s injury report, but one of his weapons made a surprising appearance as well.
Wide receiver Zach Pascal popped up on Tuesday’s report, having missed practice due to a concussion. Pascal’s concussion is believed to have occurred at the end of Sunday’s win over the Chicago Bears.
The Eagles’ offense has functioned nicely without Pascal playing in a major role this season. Signed in the off-season, Pascal has totaled 14 catches for 144 yards and one touchdown in 2022.
While it might not seem significant on the surface, Pascal’s availability could prove to be critical down the stretch.
With Philadelphia’s magic number down to just one game, Pascal could be used to cut down the workload of star receivers in A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith.
Without Pascal available to give some much-needed relief down the stretch, the Eagles could risk over-working two players who have dealt with their fair share of bumps and bruises this year.
