Philadelphia Eagles, offseason, moves

The Philadelphia Eagles have been in the news all offseason, but for good reasons, of course.

It started with their move to bring A.J. Brown to the Eagles. They did so via trade on draft night, trading away their 18th overall pick for Brown, then signing him to a huge contract.

A move a lot of people also forget about is the signing of Haason Reddick, who has 23.5 sacks over the last two seasons with Carolina and Arizona. Reddick also played nearby at Temple University and was born in New Jersey, a neighboring state.

Then, they traded for former New Orleans Saints defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, who fits the mold of this team perfectly. He and the Saints could not agree to a contract extension, so they shipped him to Philadelphia.

His attitude he plays with has Philly written all over it. He is aggressive to the ball and will make plays as long as he is on the field.

Lastly, they were able to trade the former first-round pick, Jalen Reagor, away for a fourth and a fifth-round pick. Reagor wasn't meeting the standards they had set for him and was forced out of Philadelphia.

Oh, and by the way, that's more than what the Cowboys got in return for Amari Cooper.

Of course, other moves were made this offseason, but these were the few I thought were important.

All these moves have meaning. All of these moves were made to try and better the team for the present and future, and all of them most certainly have.

If it wasn't already apparent, these moves definitely solidified the notion that the Eagles were competing this year. Traded for Gardner-Johnson only reminded everyone of that. This also means the pressure to win is huge.

The Eagles have one of the most powerful fanbases. They love their football. However, if something isn't going their way, they will let you know.

Usually, their way is winning seasons. All the more reasons why the team has so much pressure on them this year. If the Eagles don't make the playoffs this season, which they easily should, the fans will definitely let them know.

They are in a fairly easy division, as the Cowboys definitely got worse this offseason, the Commanders, well, they are the Commanders, and the Giants still have Daniel Jones at quarterback.

They have all the pieces to win the Super Bowl this year, and the division is on their side as well. Now all they have to do is put it all together. It's easier said than done, especially with the pressure they have riding on them, but they can do it.
